The airlines of the Lufthansa Group are convinced that more sustainable air traffic can still enable people, cultures, and economies to stay connected. To achieve the climate goals, lots of innovative measures are constantly implemented:
- Today, passengers can decide to opt for Sustainable Aviation Fuel, thereby reducing their carbon emissions directly. The SAF currently used by the Lufthansa Group is produced from biogenic residual materials.
- Carbon-offsetting can also be achieved by supporting high-quality climate-protection projects. They promote measurable climate protection by reducing carbon emissions and locally improving the quality of life and biodiversity.
- A third possibility is a combination of both options.
