Travelers can choose to offset their flight-related emissions at booking, via the drop-down menu under ‘Donate and offset emissions’ in the booking flow. They can manage this option through their profile on the website or mobile app.
Carbon offset contributions are invested in high quality projects in accordance with rigorous and independent certification to international standards which ensure that CO2 emissions are removed, avoided or reduced.
In partnership with IATA, Qatar Airways has selected a portfolio of projects that helps offset carbon emissions from your travel, whilst supporting local communities.
Contributions to the voluntary carbon offsetting program will be redirected to support investment in clean and renewable energy projects.
All corporate travelers can also choose to voluntarily reduce and offset their flight-related emissions via the website for all past and future travel in bulk.
Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF)
As the adoption of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) gains momentum, obstacles such as scalability, cost of production and roll-out remain. Qatar Airways is working diligently with all industry stakeholders to establish a viable pathway for the adoption of SAF.
As part of the oneworld alliance, Qatar Airways supports the ambition statement of the World Economic Forum’s Clean Skies for Tomorrow Coalition, of achieving 10% SAF by 2030.
