Meeting in person and meeting sustainability targets need not be incompatible goals. Avanti is transforming rail travel, offering business travellers industry-leading standards of comfort in all three of their classes and the opportunity to cut carbon emissions, helping customers achieve sustainability targets. Travelling with Avanti is the fastest way to achieve those targets, with the company itself on track to reach net zero by 2031.

June 2024 saw the launch of Avanti West Coast’s brand new Evero fleet. With more comfort and space onboard, plus journey-changing innovations such as ergonomic seats and reading lights, the new trains are transforming travel on journeys to Liverpool, the midlands, Chester and North Wales. The bi-mode trains can switch seamlessly between diesel and electric power, cutting carbon emissions by ~60% vs their old diesel trains.

One flight between London and Glasgow is, emissions-wise, almost the equivalent of seven train journeys. With no traffic jams, or city centre parking spaces to hunt down, what’s not to like? Take the train and let Avanti take you straight to the heart of the city at 125 mph.

Alongside comfort, convenience and sustainability there’s another reason to travel First Class with Avanti West Coast to Glasgow Central: their new First-Class Lounge. Part of a £5m refurbishment of this beautiful station, the new Lounge is an ideal place to work or relax before boarding. Great care has been taken to preserve the historic nature of the building as well as meeting the needs of the business traveller.
