At the Live Aqua Urban Resort Monterrey Valle, concierge Ricardo Ordaz has spent two years guiding visitors on the best places to see and dine in one of Mexico’s main commercial cities. Here he offers advice for business travelers.
What’s the most important thing for business travelers to pack?
Pack to accommodate our seasons. Bring light clothes in summer, when the temperature can be near 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure you have a sweater in the winter, when the low is in the 50s.
What are your top restaurant recommendations for a business lunch or dinner?
Nueve Fuegos (Lazaro Cardenas 2424 L-19, Residencial San Agustin; Ph: +81 23 17 40 50) is perfect for a business meeting. You’ll enjoy excellent cuts of the highest quality meats. An option for lunch or dinner is Pangea (Av. del Roble 660, Valle del Campestre, Monterrey; Ph: +52 81 8114 6601), a restaurant with international food, vegan options and a signature menu. It has earned a place on global best-restaurant lists.
What’s something that surprises visitors about your hotel?
The concept of an urban resort hotel surprises guest, at least until they see our view. We overlook the city and the mountains—the best of both worlds.
If business travelers only have a short time for leisure, what must they see in Monterrey?
They should visit our city’s emblematic sites Parque Fundidora and Paseo Santa Lucia, a river walk. You can see both places in three hours or less.
What’s the best option for outdoor exercise?
Our ecological park Chipinque provides an opportunity to exercise while you commune with nature.
