Sustainability plays a critical role in BCD Travel’s approach to business. That includes strategic sustainability practices to support customers, colleagues and the communities where BCD has a presence, says Kathy Jackson, executive vice president for BCD Travel, in a July 2018 blog post.
“To all of us at BCD Travel, sustainability means ethically managing our environmental, social and financial responsibilities to ensure business continues to grow whilst building a better world and working environment for future generations,” Jackson says.
It’s not just a “feel good” exercise. BCD customers benefit from the services of ethically sourced suppliers who adhere to BCD’s code of conduct. BCD also helps clients by implementing solutions like TripSource® and DecisionSource®, which provide travel managers with better, more accurate data about their programs and helps minimize risk to business travelers. The company has instituted a global energy savings program that decreased its carbon footprint by 6.8%, compared to the previous year. And it supports 30 social and regional projects in the communities where employees live and work.
